What Amount of Time is Needed?
The first part of Stage 1, 33 Days to Morning Glory, consists of a 90 minute weekly meeting. Each day there is a 5 minute daily reading and 4 reflective questions to answer. Depending upon the person, daily preparation can be be as little as 15 minutes, or as long as one would like.
Format:
Large Group: (15 Minutes) You'll begin each session coming together in a large group to begin with prayers and watch the 5 minute opening video for that session. The 5 minute DVD is important to watch at this time because it sets the stage for the small group to follow. This is also a great time for the Retreat Coordinator to make any announcements. Allow 15 minutes for this time and the transition of all participants to their small groups.
Small Group: (45 Minutes) Small groups meet for 45 minute discussion time following the guideline laid out in the Retreat Companion. The small group dynamic is a very important aspect of the retreat.
DVD: (30 Minutes) Following the small group discussion, participants will reconvene in a large group for 30 minutes of guided retreat on the DVD. Each session ends with a blessing and a sending.
Talent:
Scripture tells us the we have each been given gifts to equip us for the work of the ministry of building up the body of Christ. (Ephesians 4) We each have been gifts that differ according to the grace given to us (Romans 12) and we are called to use those gifts to build His kingdom. With than in mind you will want people who are just like you, but different! Just like you in the sense that they are on fire for Christ and their faith, but different in that each shines by working in the area in which he or she is gifted.
