I began making rosaries in 2004 so when a friend presented me with a copy of St. Louis de Montfort's Consecration to Mary, my choice of a Consecration Day was a "no brainer" ... October 7th, the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary it was!! In 2007, our pastor agreed to let us host a Divine Mercy Prayer Service on Mercy Sunday. My husband and I continue to coordinate the prayer service. It was at the prayer service this past year that I found Fr. Gaitley's 33 Days to Morning Glory. I bought a copy and decided to wait until September 4th to start reading it so that I could re-entrust myself to Mary on October 7th. As I began to get settled into the 33 days of prayer, I was prompted by the Holy Spirit to buy another copy of the book and present it to our new Associate Pastor. I was also prompted to suggest that the parish be given the opportunity to participate in the Hearts Afire parish retreat program this summer, especially since our parish's name is Mary, Queen of All Saints. Doing the program and consecrating the participants on August 22nd was, again, a "no brainer." The book was eagerly and well received. Our Associate Pastor is anticipating consecrating himself to Mary this fall so that he has a "feel" for the book and its content as he discerns whether or not to present it as a parish opportunity. In the meantime, I continue to make rosaries and pray the Memorare, entrusting everything to Mary's intercession and care. It has been a beautiful day to re-entrust myself to Mary's care; Fr. Gaitley's book has been such a blessing these past 33 days.

Catherine,

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! It is wonderful, inspiring, and encouraging for all who read it. I have to tell you, you are part of an incredible pattern we are seeing emerge with the Hearts Afire 33 Days to Morning Glory retreat, and that is first, your life has been changed by entrusting everything to Mary and second, you couldn't keep it to yourself —you bought the book for another. That's what happens when we let Mary into our hearts, she doesn't come alone. She comes with her Spouse, the Holy Spirit, and He immediately gets to work evangelizing us and making us evangelizers! It's incredible, but we at Hearts Afire hear this said to us multiple times daily. And, that is NO exaggeration!

I hope it works for your parish to offer the Hearts Afire programs. The 33 Days and Consoling the Heart of Jesus retreats truly are parish, community, family, marriage, and life transforming. May Our Lady continue to keep you under her mantle and may the Holy Spirit continue to empower you to bring the Good News to all you meet!

In Christ,

I completed my consecration on October 7th to our Blessed Mother. I was attending a Charismatic Conference on October 6th, and prayed for Mary to give me her heart and prayed for her to take my heart and use it! I know that she is as devoted to me and my life as I am to hers. Please pray for me as I try to get this study started at my parish as an adult education offering. Thank you for the book, I have received many blessings of peace and joy.

My Dearest Mary,
Thank you for drawing me to your Son Jesus! I am so blessed to be chosen by you- my mother to have made this consecration.

I would like to share a quick story as to how I was led to begin this 33 day retreat...in July the Lord spoke to my heart to remain at his cross. After much resistance on my part(because I was tired of the suffering) I was brought to read the gospel of John 19:26-27 where I found myself in scripture in the place of the "beloved disciple". I was asked to "bring Mary into my home". I continued in pray and asked the Lord how I was to bring Mary into my home, until one day a friend brought 2 books on Marian consecration. The first book with Maximillian Kolbe was what drew me to say yes, I decided to make a 9 day consecration because it sounded simple and quick! Then I about a week later I opened the other book- "33 Day's to Morning Glory". On the inside cover, to my astonishment - John 19:26-27...How could I resist a God-incident like this invitation??
We as a group ( 3 of which were close friends of mine) made our consecration on Oct. 7 "the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary" in Holy Rosary Church!
Wow God!!!

Special thanks for Father Angelo for his devotion and support...
